Todd

Todd – Chef de Cuisine

With over 15 years of culinary experience, Todd has been involved in all aspects of the restaurant and catering world. Working in almost every type of restaurant imaginable, from small cafés to fine dining to the prestigious Hotel Vancouver, Todd brings a wealth of skills to our team. Handling many of the day-to-day operations of Drew Cooks!, you’ll see Todd at the forefront of almost every event we cater. He is passionate about creating new dishes, menu concepts and offerings for our clients and always ensures our menus are seasonally inspired and exciting.

Todd also plays in a progressive rock band called Quartered, who recently completed a tour of the Philippines with some of the world’s biggest bands of the genre, and loves all kinds of music. Don’t touch the radio when Todd’s working at our kitchen!

Gordon

Gordon – Event Coordinator

Gordon joins our team with a wide range of event management experience, having been the event manager for The Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ontario, where he regularly planned large-scale events such as golf tournament galas, weddings, garden canapé parties and more. He’s also worked as the General Manager for the Strathcona Park Lodge and Resort, and Vancouver favorites such as the Blarney Stone! Gordon’s personable approach to event management is an asset to our team and makes our client’s event planning experience with us stress and hassle free.

The very definition of a people person, as well as an avid networker, Gordon also heads up our sales and marketing efforts. In his spare time, he’s a die-hard Blue Jays fan, loves to play baseball and volleyball, and is the 3-time defending Vancouver breakdance champion. Okay, we made that last one up, but he’s not bad on the dance floor either!

Violy

Violy – Sous Chef

Born in the Philippines, Violy emigrated to Canada in 1987. With her passion for cooking Violy trained in hotel management and culinary arts, becoming a red seal chef. To further enhance her training Violy also enrolled in the Dubrulle French Culinary school. After graduation Violy has run various hotel and restaurant kitchens across many styles of cuisine. She loves bold flavours and incorporating traditional ingredients from the Philippines into her dishes. While not at work, Violy has become a diehard Canucks fan, and also spends her free time tending to her rose garden and growing fresh herbs for her own cooking experiments.

Matthew

Matthew – Account Manager

Matthew has joined our team with over 10 years in customer service and serving, as well as 7 years experience in the catering industry. Hailing from northern Alberta, Matthew moved to Vancouver in 2005 where his first job was in catering and he soon fell in love with it. Working his way up to Catering Supervisor, he lead the team in executing well-organized, professional and smooth events ranging from weddings to funerals, batmisvahs, boat cruises and BBQ’s. Changing professions in 2011 to the Event Rental Industry, learning more about this ever growing and changing industry, he has now worked in countless venues around the lower mainland. Joining the team in February 2013, Matthew is working with the experience he has built to connect with new clients and the industry introducing them to Drew Cooks! Catering.

Matthew’s passion is for performance. Having a Performing Arts Diploma from Keyano College in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Matthew has also been in numerous Vancouver Stage Productions with Raving Theatre, Metro Theatre and the infamous “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” for 9 months straight. You can see Matthew in Theatre Under the Stars’ Production of “Legally Blonde- the musical” all Summer long at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. It’s going to be a busy summer!!

Carm

Carm – Bartending/Service

Carm is our bartender extraordinaire, coming to us from out east in Ontario (we were willing to look past the fact that he is a Leafs fan). Carm has worked as a bartender and server in everything from pubs to banquet halls to fine dining restaurants. He also has training in flare bartending that he loves to display at our events. In addition to Carm’s bartending skills, he also has a Science degree and works as a lab technician. Carm’s hobbies include snowboarding, mountain biking, billiards – and watching the Leafs lose (Sorry Carm!).

Sean

Sean – Bartending/Service

Sean has been with Drew Cooks! Catering since day one, starting out as a prep cook. One day, Sean stepped in to help out as a server at one of our events when someone came down with the flu – and he’s never looked back! Since then, Sean has served and bartended for every style of event imaginable, bringing his sense of humour and personable approach to our service team.

Sean also works as a web developer and has a passion for the IT/Tech world, as well as snowboarding, ultimate Frisbee, yoga, and crossfit!

Jeremy

Jeremy – Service

Jeremy is another member of our team from out east, and has also been working with Drew Cooks! since day one. Jeremy started his service-industry career as most of us did, washing dishes. From there he worked his way up to prep cook at a busy Italian restaurant, then busser and eventually became a server. He’s done everything from bartending to preparing food for hundreds of performers at music festivals to working at a local wine shop.

Jeremy devotes much of his time to volunteer-work as well, sitting on the Board of Directors for the West End Community Association and working with QMUNITY (BC’s Gay Resource Centre). Jeremy is also an avid runner, recently completing the Bellingham Bay Marathon in 2009.
